What is secularism?

It is very much painful that in our country most of the decisions are taken on the consideration of caste, community or gender. Sometimes in the name of woman empowerment, some other times for the cause of social justice.
Decisions are taken for Muslim appeasement or for capturing vote bank of some Hindu or Sikh group.
No value for quality of human being and absolutely no importance to justice. That is why our political leaders thought it better to discard meritorious, qualified, experienced dignified and the most popular President Dr. Abdul Kalam and gave preference to Mrs. Pratibha Patil for so-called woman empowerment.
Late Smt Indira Gandhi in the capacity of Prime Minister for almost 20 years could do nothing as such for woman empowerment. What more was to be done I do not know when a lady itself was at the top post of the country. There are still so many woman leaders who have taken such bold steps which even male could not imagine of sitting in the same capacity.
Even world recognized Smt Indira Gandhi as Iron Lady.
Similarly Dr. Abdul Kalam being the head of the Nation has won the love of our large section of population. He gave value and love to children and youth of the country and became their beloved Hero. He is good not because he is Muslim.
But in the name of Muslim empowerment or for the sake of secularism our political parties thought it better to put Muslim candidate for the post of Vice President. It is not merely a case of coincidence that all the three candidates are Muslims but it is true that in fear of Muslims and in want of their bulk votes all political parties have become puppet in the hands of some Muslim religious head or lost their self confidence due to their inefficiency they treat Muslim votes as unavoidable for their survival.
Other than Ms. Nazama Heptullah candidate of BJP, other two candidates are not known to even one hundredth of one percent. If opportunity is given to general voters to elect vice president I think none can defeat Nazma Heptullah.Similarly there would have been a direct voting for the post of President, none could defeat Dr Abdul Kalam.
But since UPA is in majority in the Parliament Ms Nazma will be defeated and Congress candidate will be victorious.
NO value to quality is given by our mentors even for the post of the President and the Vice President.
Always they think in wrong direction. They waste their entire time in consideration of some quota or other, to please one minority segment or other.
A man is bad and unacceptable to our political leader only because he belongs to upper caste or majority group and on the other even an illiterate and inexperienced man is better if he belong to Muslim Community or Sikh community.
I can say that Muslims (due to their diplomatic strategy for last more than three decades) in our country has shown their unity charisma and forced all political parties even to some extent BJP to touch their foot for the sake of vote bank.
Our political leaders will sell the country for their vested interest or some powerful country in the neighborhood or from the West will take our country in their grip and force us to accept slavery
.Unfortunately, we are fit to lead a life of slave and not at all we deserve to be ruler of the country.
